Fun Territory Facts:
American Samoa has a population of 57,794. Its commposed of six islands 76.8 square miles,
Tutuila is the largest and the highest point is Mount Lata on Ta'u Island at 3166 feet
above sea level. It was founded by Jacob Roggeveen, a Dutch explorer in 1722
and cedded to the United States by the High Chiefs of Tutuila. American Samoa
supplies about 1/2 of all the tuna sold in the United States. It is a South Pacific
paradise with coral reefs, beaches, and the American Samoa National Park, on three
different islands, is dedicated to preserve and protect the tropical forest and
archeological and cultural resources of American Samoa.
