The quarter's territory face depicts the history and culture of Guam with a outline of the island. To the right the words "Guahan I Tano Man Chamorro" literally translated Chamarro people of the Land of Guam.  The ship to the upper left is a Flying Pora, a native stabalized sailing canoe that can travel up to 20 mph. To the right is a Latte stone celebrating the "People of Latte" from 2000 BC to 800 AD

Territory Name Origin:
Before the Spanish-American War Guam had twenty different names recorded in explorer and missionionaries' logs. It is widely speculated that phonetically these names Goaam, Goam, Guan, Guahan("we have") in Chamorru sounded similar to Guam, hence the name.

Fun Territory Facts:
Guam has a population of 154,805. Its land area is 212 square miles, nominally 7 x 35 miles and the highest point is Mount Lamlam at 1332 feet above sea level. It was founded by Magellen in 1521 and
ceded from Spain to the United States by the Treaty of Paris in 1898. The people of Guam have been citizens of the United States since 1950. Anderson Air Force Base is a major base for US Pacific military operations and is on the northern end of the island. Guam's population is mainly Chamorro. It is the southern most island of the Mariana islands chain and is rich in history as dipicted on it's quarter.
