The quarter's stateside face depicts Chimney Rock in the background of a covered wagon and pioneer family moving through Nebraska in the early days of the country's expansion to the west. Chimney Rock is in the North Platte River valley near Scottsbluff  and is the most famous landmark on the Oregon-California Trail.

Nebraska has a population of 1,664,200, 38th in the nation. Its land area is 76,878 square
miles, 15th in the nation. The highest point is Panorama Point in the town of Kimball at 5,424

feet above sea level. The world's longest porch swing is in Hebron facing the Little Blue River.
It seats 25. Famous Nebraskan's include Johnny Carson who hosted the "Tonight Show"
for 30 years, Father Flanagan who founded "Boys Town", and John J Pershing, a famous
American General. Nebraska is the only state in the Union that has a Unicameral Legislature.
