"America the Beautiful" National Park Quarter Series
Order items below

This is a fun series of quarters that celebrates both our nation's states
and national monuments, parks, historical sites within their borders that our people have deemed a not to miss part of the history of our great country. Many of the original state quarters referenced these various parks, monuments and sites but in this program the U.S Mint provided to each state or territory a list of national sites eligible for a commemorative park quarter. From this list each state selected what they consider the most significant site in terms of natural and historic terms as well as three alternative national sites in order of preference.

We are assembling in one place a collection of not only the quarters for the selected national state sites, but to provide links to and historical data about our national parks, monuments, and why they represent that state and our country. The order of the quarter releases will be the order in which the state national site was selected to be a national historic site. That means that the issue order of these quarters has little historical significance other than the date when the site was as designated to be of national signifance.

Where a national or state park is more significant historically or visually we will point that out on the state park sheet.

As part of this expanded program we are contuning to sell our Quarter Album only now you can have a complete collection of 56 state and territrory nation park quarters along with complete sets of 50 state quarters and 6 territory quarters. We are also producing new State National Park Information Sheet. These sheets will be produced five per year for the next 11 years as each of the "America the Beautiful" State Park Quarters are issued. The sheets are for your enjoyment and provide all kinds of information about parks in each of the 50 states and 6 territories.

As we develop the new State National Park Information Sheets during the rest of 2010 we urge you to browse our web site. In announcing the new program the mint indicated that the order of issue would be according to the established date of the national site. That means that at the start of the program at least 56 sites will have been picked. Not what is on the coins but the sites they represent. That now has been done. The issue order is listed at our State Park Information Sheet. There are 391 national park system sites, 51 bird reserves 4 game preserves, 150 national forests, numerous national monuments, numerous places on the national register of historic places. Some dating back many hundreds of years so we wondered what would determine the first site? Here are some of our choices and why they should be first.

Take a peak at these sheets - two were winners in their state

Hot Springs National Park - Arkansas President Jefferson sent exposition there in 1804. Land bought 1832
